On “Voroshylovhrad”, Briefly

Our latest newsletter (Issue 3, February 2011) includes a brief version of my take on Zhadan‘s most recent novel.

A few years later I weaved some of these thoughts into ‘While the Ox is Still Alive: Memory and Emptiness in Serhiy Zhadan’s Voroshylovhrad’, Canadian Slavonic Papers / Revue Canadienne des Slavistes, 55 (2013), 45-70.
